Description: Your kayak journey will lead you through a sacred valley once reserved only for the Alii (Royalty). You will paddle approximately 4 miles round trip; up the Wailua River's North Fork, there you will disembark your kayak and begin your hike through a tropical rainforest. This sacred valley is lined with scenic waterways and cascades great for a refreshing dip. You will hike about 2 miles round trip to 120-foot Secret Falls (trail conditions can be slippery and muddy at times). This is an adventure the entire family can enjoy. Two tours offered, early tour at 8:30am and a later tour for 10:30am.
Operates: Monday-Saturday, check in around 8:30am or 10:30am, times are estimates under normal river and trail conditions. Alternate times may vary with season. *
Departure Point: Check in at Wailua River Visitor Center, 174 Wailua Road in Kapaa
Duration: 4 Hours
Equipment: Kayak and equipment; backpack style dry bags; walking sticks for the hike and an instructional and safety video presentation.
Capacity: 12 people per guide.
Inclusions: All necessary gear.
Menu: N/A
Exclusions: Bring your own beverages, snacks or picnic lunch. Wear your swimsuit, water and mud friendly shoes; Aqua Socks, Teva-like sandals or old tennis shoes (NO Flip-Flops or Crocs), bring a towel, sunscreen, hat, bug repellent and change of clothes for afterwards.
