Description: Experience the freedom and independence of mountain biking at your own pace. You'll be able to stop, get on and off the road when you want, and operate the bike within in your own comfort zone. Van departs from the Haiku Store two hours before sunrise and arrives one hour before sunrise at the summit. This ride includes transportation to the summit, van tour of the park, van ride to park entrance where staging is at Park Entrance at the 6,500' elevation where you begin your downhill bike ride. Once on the bike, it is a self-paced un-guided trip. *
Operates: Daily, store departure times, 3:00am summer - 3:30am spring and 4:00am winter (Times subject to change)
Departure Point: At the Haleakala Bike Store in Haiku Cannery Mall, 810 Haiku Road Suite 120 in Haiku.
Duration: 8-12hour trip, must return bikes by 4:00pm same day as tour.
Equipment: Gary Fisher hard tail mountain bike with disc brakes, helmet, backpack, rain gear and maps.
Capacity: N/A
Inclusions: Park tour of Haleakala National Park to experience the sunrise at the summit.
Menu: N/A
Exclusions: Pick up from your hotel, condo or cruise ship is available for an additional $20.00 per person, riders must return to bike shop in Haiku by no later than 12:00pm for shuttle back to hotel or cruise ship.
*Restrictions: Caution, this ride is not for beginners or pregnant women. Trailer bikes attached to a parent's bike are available for children 5-7 years old that are able to sit and pedal for the tour. Competent bikers ages 8 and up may have their own bike and go on this tour.
