Outfitters Kauai is one of the premier companies we have on Kauai that operates Kayak Tours (they also operate zip-line and bike tours as well). The owner, Rick Haviland, was among the very first to have a governmentally sanctioned kayak adventure on Kauai back in the early eighties and is now famous for his river kayaking experiences as well as his ocean kayaking. In the summer months when the wave conditions are generally permitting he provides the quintessential NaPali Coast paddle which allows you to traverse the entire eleven mile coastline in just one day. The entire year however is suitable for his "river runs" and his clients are always appreciative of the superior service and attention to detail that his tours regularly provide.

Outfitters Kauai offers perhaps the fastest of the Zip-Lines in the state. They also are among the most permissive in terms of how you do it. Would you like to jump off your starting platform backwards, flip upside down in mid-air or be launched at the same time from a separate but parallel zip cable with your buddy, partner of spouse? The guides at Outfitters Kauai go out of their way to make your adventure as fun as it can be. And the fun's not over when you finish zip-lining. You're then taken to what may be one of the most beautiful waterfalls on the island for a swim and (if you're up for it) a spectacular rope swing launching off a 20' cliff. This will prove to be one of the most fun experiences of your Hawaii vacation.

The Waimea Canyon is considered to be the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific" and there is no better way to see it then on the 12-mile canyon to Coast Ride On A Bicycle offered by Outfitters Kauai. This ride is all downhill and starts near the top of the canyon at the 3500' level. The crisp fresh air will set the mood for the experience which will be enjoyed by nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. You're decent to the ocean below will be casual and slow allowing you to "take in" all the wonderful moments along the way. Your courteous guides will take every opportunity to fill you in on the history of the area and the distant island of Niihau as well which will be very visible on your ride down. This tour is a novel one on Kauai and gives you the opportunity to experience the beauty of the island in a very different way.

Na Pali Coast Sea Kayak - Outfitters Kauai

Description: This is a strenuous 15-mile tour by kayak to one of the most beautiful and remote shorelines. Paddle at the base of sheer 3000' sea cliffs, through waterfalls plunging hundreds of feet into the ocean, land at a beautiful beach that is actually closed 9 months of the year due to huge surf. You meet early in Poipu and ride together in a van to the launch site at Haena. After about an hour's paddle you come upon the famed sea caves of NaPali at Milolii, the site of an ancient Hawaiian fishing community, where you will have lunch. Usually you arrive at Milolii between 1:00 and 2:00pm (about 11 miles of paddling) so the morning is long! After lunch you have a 4-mile paddle in typically calm water to Polihale, where a van will be waiting for you. When you return to the Poipu store you will have circumnavigated the entire island! *

Description: Strenuous 8-mile kayak tour in typically heavy seas return is by shuttle. Adventuresome trip. Paddle along Kauai's scenic south shore from Poipu to Port Allen. This segment of the coastline holds some of Kauai's most secluded bays and beaches and you will make surf landings on three different seldom seen beaches. After launching from Kukuiula Small Boat Harbor you pass the famous Spouting Horn, a remarkable salt-water blowhole. After about 45 minutes you'll surf your kayak up on the beach at Lawai Kai, the exquisitely beautiful site of Queen Emma's Summer Home. Since you got an early start you may be ready for a pick me up, your guide will bust out a jug of hot coffee and bag of muffins for you to enjoy as you stroll the beach. You then continue downwind passed the white sand beach and barrier reef zone near Palama's Point, paddling downwind, you'll be hoping to see interesting marine life, such as spinner dolphin and honu, or sea turtles, both common in this area. During the months of Nov through April you run the chance of getting a glimpse of migratory humpback whales. After 7 miles of paddling you'll be ready for lunch. For that, you land at a special place to relax and eat, a big protected Bay known as Wahiawa, where you can comb the 1/4 mile crescent shaped sandy paradise, play in the water and snorkel the fringes of the bay. Meanwhile your guide will lay out a tasty picnic lunch with a brownie dessert that may inspire a nap. Around mid afternoon, after another brief paddle, a driver will arrive to whisk you away on your return to the Poipu resort area.*
